Putting on (donning) and taking off (doffing) personal protective equipment (PPE) safely is essential to limit the transmission of infectious diseases. Research reveals that inadequate training and lack of prior experience lead to ineffective donning and doffing practices. Thus, it is important to offer training and perform regular competency checks to continually assess workers’ use of PPE and their compliance with proper donning and doffing practices.

By the end of this module, you will be able to...

  1. Assess the PPE donning and doffing techniques of continuing care workers based on standards set by the BC Centre for Disease Control
  2. Accurately complete the PPE Donning & Doffing Audit Form
